Anyone live near Delaware?
I posted a reply to a comment on a YouTube video of a Video Poker jackpot. I said something about the VP payouts not being as often as they used to be here in Southern CA. About a year later, which was a few weeks ago, the woman replied back that she'd had the same experience with VP payouts, but that she'd been going to Delaware Park Casino for a year or two and was winning more money from hitting Royals and quad Aces then all the previous years COMBINED. And she said she's been playing VP since the mid-70's. This is a pretty outrageous statement and I'm tempted to fly across the country to try my luck there.
Does anyone here live near Delaware or have any experience with playing VP at that casino? I replied back to her for more details but it will probably take another year.

Online Delaware Poker - SNG 9man Turbo Advice (not played in a decade)
I stopped playing online when poker was initially banned. I don’t play live at all and have not played a single hand until a week ago. Downloaded the Delaware Park Casino crap and have played a half dozen tournaments. First realization is I’ve forgotten more than I know.
Trying to play just relax and play a single 9 man SNG Turbo before bed. Sort of like a night cap. Ideally $10 entry but things fill so slow I’ve dropped in on a few $5s.
Playing uber tight very early. Will limp in with suited connector but otherwise, will play better quality cards aggressively but mainly hanging around to blinds go up. Freaking people pay way too many hands, make random opening raises late (400 when blinds are 200/100 and their stack is 1200 to 1700) and followed by one or two folks.
Out of like 9 tournaments I’ve cashed like 40% but it all feels like folks are playing so random, that I’m really not understanding what’s going on or how to play. Maybe the world has changed and I’m waking up like Rip Van Winkle. Is there some basic strategy guide that would make my “night cap” more enjoyable and bring me up to date?

Poker on the Rise In Delaware
Poker is alive and well in Delaware with record profits reported from cash games at just over 1600 bucks. An exact figure is still unknown as most of the money came in the form of nickels and dimes. That’s a 4% profit spike last month, compared to July of last year, showing that the Diamond State can still be counted on when the chips are down.
A representative from Delaware Park Casino had this to say “We might not have the stretch limos, High rise buildings, Hookers, or Cocaine like they have in Vegas, but we do have free car parking, and we’re next to the park which has ducks in it. There’s also talk of Lindsay Lohan coming to do a show here. let’s see Cirque du Soleil compete with that.”
Mike Hunt of the Delaware Gaming Commission released this statement on their website. “The poker is dying mantra is getting old now, and it simply isn’t true. We have players flocking to the casino in groups some times as large as five. One night we filled three tables, we were surprised Poker After Dark didn’t try to make a television series out of it. We hadn’t seen the poker room fill up like that since the peak of the Chris Moneymaker era.”
The future for the Delaware poker industry is bright, with the Park Casino now in serious negotiations with one of its chefs to stay back for an extra hour after evening meal service to make sandwiches and cocktail sausages for the poker players. This should add a touch of glamor to the game, and help attract the higher stake players. With talk of opening a 5/10 dollar table and possibly even a 25 dollar buy in tournament for Christmas, Vegas could be facing some stiff competition for its customers in the near future.

[Connolly] Orioles have officially moved on from Delaware North and will employ Chicago-based hospitality company Levy to run the Camden Yards concessions. Levy runs concessions at Nats Park among others. Release states there will be “local twists” to the offerings. But no details revealed.
