Casino Royale (2006) is a masterpiece

I watched this movie a lot growing up, but never really appreciated it until recent years. I understand it’s highly regarded, but I truly believe it’s a cornerstone of the action genre. It fully encapsulates the Bond character, with great action and witty dialogue, unlike (in my opinion) the later installments. While I enjoy all of the Craig movies, this movie feels the most complete. I recently watched No Time to Die for the first time, I enjoyed it, but it felt shallow like I feel a lot of franchises do these days. Anyways, I’m just feeling very nostalgic right now and if you haven’t seen this movie, please do yourself a favor and enjoy it. It’s on Netflix right now.

Bond gets poisoned while playing poker, goes to the bathroom and pukes, goes to his car to take an antidote, nearly dies, wakes up, walks back to the poker table and says, "Sorry, that last hand nearly killed me."
This is the most realistic one liner in movie history because Bond had the entire like five minute walk back to the poker table to think of something cool to say

why didn't James care about his drink in the Casino Royale film?

My friend expressed annoyance recently with James's "do I look like I give a damn" line in the Casino Royale film about his drink for being subversive purely for the sake of it. I had always assumed it was a purposeful choice, illustrating a change in his character from the Bond who doesn't care about his drink in the first Craig movie to the Bond who fixes his cuffs in the train scene at the beginning of Spyfall. I just never worked out in what way this change in behavior reflected or was motivated by his change in character.
Can anyone provide any insight or ideas? Or is my friend right, and it was simply a meta commentary towards the audience to signal "this isn't the same Bond you've seen in films until now"?

It's been years since I've seen Casino Royale, so I'm taking advantage of it on Amazon Prime right now. To be able to stop, rewind, and watch a scene again does come in handy, and I find myself grinning like an idiot as Craig and Green antagonize each other in their opening scenes.
Craig, as we all know, does pull off the overly confident, machismo sociopath Bond, but the way Green busts his balls whenever she gets a chance is so much fun to watch.
Definitely my favorite Bond girl of the Craig films now.

Is Casino Royale or Skyfall is the superior Bond film and why?

With No Time To Die on the horizon (which looks pretty good based on the trailers) I think it's worth taking a look back on the Craig era and talking about his strongest films.
I know that Spectre isn't well like and Quantum Of Solace is seen as somewhat underrated but Casino and Sky get the most praise.

Although this film is amongst my three least favourite Bond films, does anyone else find it strange that Quantum of Solace's retrospective reception has declined drastically? I remember back in 2008 on Bond forums (debrief.commanderbond etc.) where people were saying it is better than Casino Royale.
