Theory on baseball betting
I know pitchers and catcher don't report for another two months but I can't help but think ahead to how baseball betting would work, being the hardcore fan that I am.
With a 162 game schedule picking any one game would be too difficult. Even basing it off pitching match-ups and recent offensive success is not a guarantee in baseball.
So my theory is that you figure out who will win the series, and then bet on all 3 or 4 games of that series. While it's harder to figure out who will win a particular game, it's a little bit easier to figure out who will win a 3 game series. Let's also assume that you start with a
bankroll of $330.
Example:
Let's take a Angels-Rangers series. Let's assume that assume that the Rangers are favorites.
Game 1:
- Rangers -3 (-110) Bet $110 to win $100 Win BR=$430
- Rangers -1 (-110) Bet $110 to win $100 Lose BR=$320
- Rangers -2 (-110) Bet $110 to win $100 Win BR=$420
You come out winning $90.
You could also withhold betting in certain games based on pitching matchup or other reason.
You could of course bet on single games as you see fit, but it seems it would be wise to treat single games like parlays, don't expect to get them right a lot.
This could turn out to be horrible idea as I have only been betting for a few days and have no idea how baseball betting lines look.

Now that they allow betting on baseball, MLB needs to come clean with this different weighted balls scam.
Edit: Let's say MLB and teams make more money when the home team wins. People stay at the game longer, buy more food, and buy merchandise.
When yankees (#1 in HR) are home, use heavier balls to assist more home runs. When Cleveland (#29 in HR) is home, use the lighter balls.
It won't fix every game, but they could assist the home team and just chalk it up to "home field advantage"
Before betting, they could probably do this legally. But now, I believe they need to be transparent.
Using new balls throughout the game also made it difficult to hide this because most foul/HR balls have only been used for 1 or 2 pitches.

My wife and I are betting on whether my Auntie will text me at 8pm wishing me a happy new year before "the phone lines get too busy"
For those who can't remember, it use to be almost impossible to send a text wishing people happy new year at midnight so some people use to send the text earlier to make sure it went through.
Despite this being the case 20 years ago; my auntie still sends me a text incase it's busy.
