As the title indicates, every time I complete an offer (it's just games), I have to contact customer service and jump through a bunch of hoops. It didn't used to be this way, but I've asked them what I'm doing wrong and have yet to get an answer. Most recently I completed the three thresholds for Yahtzee! With Buddies, reaching level 33 in 6 days, but nothing appeared in pending on any of the level thresholds. I also completed a Puzzles and Survival offer and had a similar issue (that was actually the first time this started happening). Now, I just completed the GSN Casino offer for $13 in about an hour (holy guacamole that was easy) but again, nothing is showing in pending. I'm not the most patient person, as I've found I tend to forget things if I don't jump on them immediately, but I totally understand and respect that these things can take a little while to credit. But can anyone explain to me why it would switch from instantaneous credit to having to do all these extra things? I always allow the apps to do whatever they want, from tracking me to sending me notifications. I booted up my Galaxy J3, Galaxy Apps updated itself, and then apps silently installed such as Wish, News Break, Pandora, GSN Casino, and several others onto my phone. An ad for a sponsored app also appeared.
If you're wondering, DT Ignite is an app made by Digital Turbine that is installed on phones by carriers. It installs apps on your phone silently without consent, shows ads on your phone's notification center, uses data which could rack up data fees on limited data plans, and collects your data. It's basically a modern version of Carrier IQ.
AT&T calls it AT&T App Select, Verizon calls it Verizon App Manager, Tracfone calls it Mobile Services, and the generic name Digital Turbine gave it is Mobile Services Manager.
I went into App Info and they all said "App downloaded from Galaxy Apps".
You can't disable Galaxy Apps in the Settings app, but some carrier versions of DT Ignite can be disabled. I would highly recommend disabling it.

Note: I noticed that a couple of new app trailers have been added and/or moved around since I wrote everything down, so the number of app trailers is now at 108. However, the change is minimal enough that these estimates, I believe, are still accurate. Besides, I really don't feel like doing this all over again!

Here we go.
Let's multiply 8 seconds between the videos times the 104 times this occurs, which gives us 13 minutes and 52 seconds.
There are advertisements before the app trailers which are usually 15 or 30 seconds long, so we'll multiply their average, 22.5 seconds, times the 105 times they show up. This equals 39 minutes and 22.5 seconds.
Now let's multiply the time it takes the advertisements to load, which for me was about 9 seconds, times 105, which equals 15 minutes and 45 seconds.
After the advertisement finishes, it takes about 2 seconds for my phone to load the app trailer itself. So let's multiply 2 seconds times the 105 times this happens. Here we get 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
Finally let's add it all up!
01:33:33 + 00:13:52 + 00:39:22.5 + 00:15:45 + 00:03:30 = 2 hours, 46 minutes, and 2.5 seconds

This estimate suggests that an Android devices will last more than twice as long on app trailers than an Apple device, which I calculated to be about 80 minutes in my previous post. This is a major advantage and helpful information for those wondering which OS Perk TV will run bettelongefaster on.

Nexus 7 2013. Got the OTA update 4 days ago. Can't tell any difference so far except one app that won't run (GSN Casino). This is about blackjack.
I like watching various televised gambling events and GSN has been for the last few years running the so-called World Series of Blackjack. 40 or so players each year, a mix of pro players and qualifiers from various casinos. I’m not a big blackjack player and haven’t played tournament blackjack, but it’s been very interesting for me to learn something about tournament strategy, and there have been some pretty dramatic moments.
This series, the rules include something called the “Burger King Power Chip.” Or as I have come to think of it “The Abomination Unto the Lord Power Chip.” Each player gets one BKPC per game and the BKPC allows them to swap out one card per game for the next card in the shoe. So for example if they get dealt K-5 they can ditch the 5 and hope for a better draw.
I hate this. It’s a perversion of the rules of the game. Blackjack’s worked just fine without this abortion of a “power chip” for decades. Take the cards you’re dealt and suck it the hell up.
Even worse is that the unctuous hosts have to product place Burger King and the fucking power chip what seems like every 40 seconds. In the rules explanation: “New this season, players can have it their way with the Burger King Power Chip.” In the play by play: “Now Ben, Angela does still have her Burger King Power Chip, that’s a huge advantage for her!” When they actually use it: “Oh, it looks like Dave is going to use his Burger King Power Chip, he wants to have it his way now!” Horrible host people, shut the hell up! You’re recording the commentary after the event, so you know that 4 times out of five when you name-check the chip the player hasn’t used it. It’s annoying to listen to you blather repeatedly about the goddamn power chip when you know damn well it doesnt signify.
